  • American Art Company The American Art Company mixes contemporary works of art on paper (etchings, silk-screens, and collage) with paintings, sculpture, art quilts and contemporary expressions in wood.

  • Art Addiction Medial Museum - They have online work by many artists. Note- teachers will need to screen one section on the site.

  • Artists' Index (Archive) of WWAR (Worldwide Arts Resources). This site has over 150,000 pages! It has been bought out and is now called Abolute Arts.

  • Art-Collecting - A page with links to Native American artists, galleries, and exhibitions.

  • Art Institute of Chicago - You can find all the artists in their museum from this page.

  • Art Marketing - There is a gallery with books and mailing lists that include information about artists.

  • Artist Online Biz - (Archive) a guide to art and artist information on the Web. This might be a good source for teacher to "discover" new contemporary art to inspire lessons. This link is provided for teacher use - all artists have not been checked.

  • Artist Rising - (Archive) When it was online, this site boasted 409,783 pieces of art from 75,845 members. This site was a division of art.com and they also have a list of artists.

  • The Arts Factory, with 10 artists.

  • Artwork Project - (Archive) A place where artists show their work, communicate and post upcoming art events. This site is in Spanish.

  • Behance Network - Not only does this site include many artists, it also encourages feedback and is a great networking site.

  • Brooks Aviation Art - This art focuses on art related to aviation.

  • Clark House Pottery - This studio is run by a husband and wife team.

  • deviantART - A large art community with individual online galleries. This site has grown into one of the most popular art communities on the web.

  • DoubleTake Gallery with over 100 artists listed alphabetically.

  • Exploratorium Digital Library, with a collection from their many artist-in-residence artists.

  • Famous Hispanic Painters, (archive) a page with 11 links to Hispanic artists.

  • Fine Art America - an online marketplace for many artists.

  • Freelance Illustrators - A large collection of illustrators that you can select for the best freelancers for your advertising, design, or publishing project.

  • Google Art Project - You can find very high resolution images of famous art here.

  • Literature, Arts & Medicine Database, (Archive) a large collection of artists.

  • Living Artists Gallery, a collection of artists in the state of Washington.

  • Metropolitan Museum of Art - This is their search page for all the artists represented in their museum.

  • Modo Gallery (Now Foundry) - Includes a gallery, art community, and collection of artists.

  • Museum of Modern Art (MOMA) - This is an index of artists that are represented in their museum.

  • Myartspace [Archive] - At one time, this was a huge site (40,000 artists) similar to deviantART. They suddenly pulled the plug without warning in January, 2012. Now all that is left is this archive.

  • The National Ice Carving Association - You can find many ice sculptors on this page.
  • National Gallery of Art - Explore thousands of the most significant works of art from the Renaissance to the present day.

  • Native American Art - A small collection of Native American Artists.
