Word Pictures

Students designed several thumbnail sketches to gather ideas for how to best design a word which could visually show it's meaning... for example: using the word "egg," one could draw the word in the shape of an egg and cut the letters to form that shape. Students were asked to do two art pieces... the first one to get the idea and the second one to come up with a deeper venture into critical thinking and problem solving. Lots of higher level thinking here! Each artpiece was totally unique and students enjoyed refining exacto knife skills.
