Says Litu, "I grew up in Nairobi, Kenya, and I have been drawing cartoons ever since I can remember. After consulting my local witchdoctor, I was told that I could not live unless I consistently drew cartoons. Hence, ‘The Shikwekwes’."
"Early in the year 2002, I came up with the idea of chronicling the lives of an African family in a webcomic. The idea was to take a look at the family struggling to cope with the demands of the 21st century, with a light touch. That, in a nutshell, is who I am."
