The Spring '96 Art Room

1

In March and April 1996, our first guest art room appeared on The Incredible Art Department site. This was early in the life of the worldwide web. Not many schools were online at that time. The School that appeared is W. T Clarke High School in East Meadow School District on Long Island, NY.

Dr. Carleton Palmer was the art teacher at the time. When he worked there he taught four classes of photography and an advertising class where he integrated computer graphics.

Dr. Carleton Palmer (Shown on the right) recently was named Director of Visual Art for the IMPACT (Interactive Multimedia Performing Arts Collaborative Technology) Program at NYU the summer of 2011. Palmer's Facebook page is located here.

Watch this page for updates on W. T. Clarke High School. Current course offerings include Studio Art I, II, Advanced and AP; Photography I, II, Advanced and AP; Creative Crafts I, II and III; Fashion Illustration and Computer Art.

UPDATE: Dr. Palmer contacted me to tell me what he is doing now. Says Palmer:

"I remain with IMPACT at NYU, and we have grown websites and Facebook pages recently:"
